Indian Council of Agricultural Research(ICAR) entrance for UG (Agricultural, Allied Sciences and Dairy Technology)

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. It conducts examinations for admission to various UG & PG programmes across Agricultural Universities in India.

Examination: 17th All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA-UG-2012) to 15% seats in Bachelor’s degree programmes and award of National Talent Scholarship in Agricultural and Allied Sciences in Agricultural Universities & 100% seats in Dairy Technology at NDRI Karnal

Exam date and time: April 14, 2012, Saturday (10am to 12.30pm)

Programmes: Admission to 11 Bachelor’s programme of four year duration:

• Agriculture
• Horticulture
• Fisheries
• Forestry
• Home Science
• Sericulture
• Biotechnology
• Agricultural Engineering
• Dairy Technology
• Food Science
• Agricultural Marketing & Cooperation

Eligibility:
For the purpose of Entrance Examination, these 11 programmes have been divided into 2 streams:

• Stream A (Agriculture/Biology): Candidates under this stream can take admission for Bachelor’s Degree programme in Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Food Science and Biotechnology. Candidate opting for this stream should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Agriculture/Home Science.
• Stream B (Maths): Candidates under this stream can take admission for Bachelor’s Degree programme in Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology and Agricultural Marketing & Cooperation as well as in Food Science, Biotechnology and Forestry at some of the Agricultural universities provided biology has been a subject in 10+2. Candidate opting for this stream should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

• Click here to apply online. Send a Demand Draft of Rs 500 (Rs 250 for SC/ST) drawn in favour of ‘ICAR Unit-Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi’ payable at New Delhi.
• The application forms can also be obtained in person from sale counters of Agricultural Universities and designated Syndicate Bank branches (click here to know about the branches) on cash payment of Rs 500/- (Rs 250 for SC/ST)
