Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health, Assam, established in 1876, is one of the oldest mental hospitals in the country. Initially under the State Govt, in 2007 it was brought under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

Eligibility:

• M.D. in Psychiatry: MBBS degree from any University recognized by MCI with completion of internship on or before March 31, 2012 or foreign degree included in the Indian Medical Council Act.
• M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from UGC approved University / Institution, securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
• M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology: MA/M.Sc. in Psychology/Counseling Psychology/ Psychological Counseling /Applied Psychology, from UGC approved University / Institution, securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
• M.Sc in Psychiatric Nursing: B.Sc. Nursing / Post basic B.Sc. Nursing degree from any University recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with one year working experience as a registered nurse securing not less than 55% in the aggregate of the degree as a whole.
