The Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations was established in 1983 as a separate set up for the conduct of Entrance Examinations for admission to Professional Courses in the State.

• Engineering - BTech in Agri Engg, Food Engg (Both courses under the Kerala Agricultural University) and BTech in Dairy Science & Tech (under the Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University)
• Architecture - BArch

Admission criteria: Entrance exam

The CEE will conduct separate Entrance Examination for admission to Engineering and Medical Courses. The CEE will not conduct any Entrance Examination for admission to BArch course. However, candidates seeking admission to BArch course should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA).

Candidate can pay application fee in either of the two following methods:

Security  Card - Security Card, Prospectus and an envelope can be obtained from selected Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State, on payment of the prescribed fee by cash. Security card will not be available at the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The Security card consists of a KEY NUMBER, which is inside the Security panel and not visible before scratching the silver panel. There is a Serial Number on each Security card. The Key number and Serial Number are unique and  are required for filling up of payment details in the online application.

Demand Draft - Application fee can be paid by way of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
