Established as Imperial Forest Research Institute in 1906, Forest Research Institute (FRI) Dehradun, is a premier institution under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE). It is a Deemed University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956.

Eligibility:

• M.Sc in Forestry: Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in science with at least one of the subjects as Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry.
• M.Sc in Wood Science and Technology: Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or B.Sc in Forestry.
• M.Sc in Environment Management: Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in any branch of basic or applied sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry or B.E/B.Tech in Environment Sciences.
• M.Sc in Cellulose & Paper Technology: Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects or a B.E./B.Tech in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. The final year of the course will be conducted at Central Pulp & Paper Research Institute (CPPRI), Saharanpur.

Selection procedure: Entrance Examination. Candidates should score 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the entrance examination to get through the courses.
