Eligibilty:   

• Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE)

GATE qualified 1st Class Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch. GATE qualifiers get Teaching Assistantship @ Rs.8000/- per month and contingency expenditure as per rules. Admission is based on Group Discussion and Personal Interview with appropriate weightage to GATE Score, Final year Engineering/Technology candidates can also apply, provided they secure the qualifying degree with First class before June 18, 2012. Only short listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at NITIE, Mumbai.

SC/ST candidates are granted financial assistance as per the scheme of Govt, of India vide letters No. 11016/ 19/2005-SCD-l dated 21.6.2007 & No. 19012/36/05-Education dated 27.6.2007 subject to the satisfactory fulfilment of terms and conditions mentioned therein. Reservation for OBC candidates belonging to Non-Creamy Layer is as per the government regulations.

• Fellow (Doctoral) programme (FP) 

Master's Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Technology, Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Sciences, Life Sciences and Pure Sciences with First Class from recognized University/Institution, CA/ ICWA and ACS. Those appearing for their final examination in the respective disciplines can also apply. Project/Work experience in these areas would be preferred.

Candidates from Industry/Academia with above eligibility and a minimum of two years experience may also apply. Such candidates, if selected, have to stay in the campus for six months for credit requirements. No financial assistance is available for such candidates. They need to produce sponsorship certificate from the employer.

Selection procedure:

• Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) - Selection of Industry Sponsored candidates with First Class Degree in Engineering/Technology (with a minimum of 2 years industry experience) is through personal interview only. GATE score is not required for Sponsored candidates. No teaching assistantship is granted to ISP candidates.
   
• Fellow (Doctoral) programme (FP) - Applicants are evaluated on their past academic achievement, motivation and preparation for the programme, seminar presentation on the area of his/her research interest and personal interview. In addition, all candidates are required to appear in a written test conducted by NITIE.

Application fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- in case of SC/ST/PD candidates) and applicable bank charges can be paid in the form of challan (downloadable from NITIE website) in any branch of State Bank of India.

Hard copy of the filled-in Online Application duly signed by the candidate should be sent to the address given below along with Institute's copy of the challan and copies of the relevant certificates as mentioned in the Instructions.

Note: Reservation and 5% relaxation on 1st Class % marks are applicable to SC/ST/PD candidates as per Govt, of India rules for both the programmes.
Fulfilment of minimum qualifications is not an automatic claim to be called for Group Discussion & Interview.
